Project Description
While the house was renovated, Melissa also designed a new landscape for the back garden to complement the architecture.
The garden links to the house via a long, narrow pond and water feature that runs the full length of the 5-metre decking. Bamboo and other soft planting make this a lush and inviting space. At the end of the pond, some feature rocks and a grass tree draw the eye outwards.
The small courtyard style garden includes espaliered citrus trees on tensioned stainless steel wires with an underplanting of blueberries, as well as tall silver birches for shade – their striking white trunks contrasted by the new charcoal-coloured fence. This garden is inviting, practical and productive.
